Leadership Takes Courage

Last Friday, CHA’s student council went to iFly Indoor Skydiving for their winter retreat. Students and sponsors participated in two low dives and four fifteen-foot dives. The purpose of the activity was to allow students to get out of their comfort zones and try new things. In debriefing the activity, many students expressed apprehension about the task before coming. However, afterward, they readily expressed their excitement about getting to do it.
Leadership takes courage. Courage is not the absence of fear, but fear put into action. Being a leader takes courage—courage to try, fail, and not be liked. CHA’s student council spends many hours planning, meeting weekly, discussing issues, and executing events. Their attitudes and commitment to demonstrating CHA’s eight leadership practices have blessed the school.
Proverbs 29:2 states, “When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.” Thank you, student council, for a great year.
