Where the Spirit of The Lord Is

October 09, 2023
By Dr. Susan DeMoss

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.—2 Corinthians 3:17-18

Last Thursday, CHA hosted its annual Patriotic Program. Our elementary students proclaimed the principles of liberty. Through Christ, we are set free from sin and, through the Holy Spirit, have the power to demonstrate self-government. All external liberty is a result of internal liberty. Thomas Jefferson wrote, “That government is best when it governs the least because its people discipline themselves.” At CHA, self-government is taught from pre-kindergarten through senior year. As guests enter our building, the effect of internal liberty is seen externally in our halls, at athletic events, and in our classrooms. Christ makes the difference.

The answer to our nation’s concerns is not more government but rather the Lord transforming hearts and minds, one person at a time. If you would like to hear more about how you could divert some of your tax dollars to provide scholarships to students so that more could hear these truths, please contact Dr. Susan DeMoss. We are hosting informational breakfasts and lunches on November 2, November 16, and November 30.  Breakfasts will be from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. in Mr. J. Bullard’s office. Lunches will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Mr. J. Bullard’s office. All events are free; anyone (parents, grandparents, business owners, friends) interested in learning more about this opportunity is invited to attend. If you are interested in reading more, please visit our website or the Opportunity Scholarship Fund. If you would like to attend one of our informational breakfasts or lunches, please contact Dr. Susan DeMoss at or phone at 672-1787 Ext 233 or complete this online form.

Thank you for praying for CHA. We hope you enjoyed the Patriotic Program on Friday. It was another reminder that where the Spirit of the Lord is….there is freedom.
