Good, Good Father

March 03, 2025
By Dr. Susan DeMoss

Statistics reveal that fathers make a difference in the lives of their children.

Research shows that when fathers are involved, their children are:

  • 2 times more likely to go to college
  • 45% less likely to repeat a grade
  • 80% less likely to spend time in jail
  • 75% less likely to experience teen pregnancy

When fathers are absent from the home, it accounts for:

  • 71% of all high school dropouts
  • 90% of homeless and runaway children
  • 63% of youth suicides

Proverbs 14:26 reminds us that fathers who fear the Lord provide a place of refuge for their children. “In the fear of the LORD one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge.”

Thank you, CHA dads, for loving your children and being present in their lives.
