Run It Back

January 30, 2023
By Dr. Susan DeMoss

This year’s spring homecoming theme is “Run It Back.”  The verse is Psalm 143:5-6, “I remember the days of old;  I meditate on all that you have done;  I ponder the work of your hands. I stretch out my hands to you;  my soul thirsts for you like a parched land.”

The student council has beaconed the student body to remember the entire year. Remember what they have been taught — awaken and live their faith. Secondary students voted on their top five all-time homecoming days from years gone by. Decorations recall memories of elementary years and friends.

As a teacher, the best gift a student (or parent) can give is to come back — “Run it Back.” Run back and see us. Tell us what God is doing in your life. Remember what God did in your life at CHA and what He is doing now.

Remembering is a powerful gift that the Lord has given. May each of us live intentionally this week and remember those people who have made a difference in our lives and the memories that we have made. Run back and tell them.

Sphere Influencers

January 23, 2023
By Dr. Susan DeMoss

CHA’s vision is to create leaders who understand America’s gospel purpose in every sphere of society. This vision is accomplished outside the walls of CHA. Last weekend, my family attended the student production of Grease at Randall University, produced by the Artworks Academy. Two of CHA’s very own students were featured: Abby Blair (supporting lead role) and Mackenzie Baldwin (chorus). CHA has so many talented students. We have a front row for some of these students to see them use their talents at school. Others share their gifts on various platforms and spheres of influence in our city. Regardless, where students share their gifts and abilities for God’s glory, they are fulfilling our mission and vision statements.

Where is your student’s sphere? Would you be willing to share how God is using your student to be leaders who share the gospel? We would love to hear from you and celebrate God’s faithfulness to accomplish His vision that He gave us. May we all be sphere influencers for His glory this week!

Ambassadors for Christ

January 16, 2023
By Dr. Susan DeMoss

CHA has a distinct philosophy of athletics. It reads—

“Since we are ambassadors for Jesus Christ, let us conduct ourselves in word and action just as Christ would conduct Himself. Therefore, all that we do, we will do with a total release of our mental and physical abilities and our emotional energies towards our performance, having in mind that Christ is our only audience. Concerning our attitude towards players and fans of the opposing team, we will strive "to love our neighbor as ourselves" and "do unto them as we would have them do unto us."

Athletics is our most prominent public platform for the gospel. From tracts in our athletic program to prayers before the games, athletics provides an avenue for guests to see the difference Christ makes. Character development, response to adversity, and game focus are goals modeled and taught by our coaches. We are grateful for our coaches, athletes, and families who sacrificially give their abilities, time, and other resources for the opportunity not just to play a sport but for the propagation of the gospel.

We invite you to join us at an upcoming game and testify to the difference Christ makes in a believer.

Deeply Rooted

January 09, 2023
By Dr. Susan DeMoss

Each year, the faculty has a theme for professional development training.  The theme focuses the training and brings cohesiveness throughout the year. This year’s theme is Deeply Rooted. As a school over fifty years old, it is sometimes easy to forget what the Lord has done and stay rooted in the mission and vision. Our verse for the year is Colossians 2:6-7,

Therefore, as you have received Christ the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed…

Our educational goals for the year are:

Goal 1: To pursue the fulfillment of CHA’s mission statement, teachers will Biblically reason each subject, create Biblical reasoning assignments and assessments, and complete the four charts used in Biblical reasoning for each subject.

Goal 2: To pursue the fulfillment of CHA’s vision of developing American Christian leaders, CHA’s leadership matrices will be refined.

Please pray for us as we continue pursuing what the Lord has called us since 1972. May we remain deeply rooted in Him.
