Over Twenty Years in the Making

September 05, 2023
By Dr. Susan DeMoss

Christian Heritage Academy acquired its current location in 1988. Originally the home of First Southern Del City, the space was constructed as a church.  Over the years, the structure has allowed CHA to grow to educate over 640 students each year. However, with large group department areas and small Sunday school spaces on the third floor, some space was unsuitable for classrooms. Since the late 1990s, administrators have discussed plans to remodel the third floor to provide better classroom space, junior high locker room facilities, and disability access to upper floors through an elevator.

In August, the school began renovating the third floor, providing enhanced classrooms, well-equipped junior high science labs, additional classroom space, and upgraded security features on the third floor. Through the $2 million grant received and generous donations exceeding $ 1.5 million from constituents, the Lord has provided the opportunity to better achieve our mission of training true Christian scholars with a Biblical worldview.

For more than twenty years, faithful families, partners, and faculty members have prayed for the Lord to continue to fulfill His plan and purposes for Christian Heritage Academy. May it be said of us twenty years from now that we, too, have been faithful to pray and support the ministry of CHA. He is faithful (Deuteronomy 7:9)!
